Winter Hood from Peterson's Magazine

This is a winter hood I created from looking at an engraving in Peterson's Magazine, 1861. The hood is attached to a small cape that rests on the shoulders. For my reproductions, I used black cotton velveteen for the outer fabric and silk taffeta for the lining. The lining is quilted to wool batting and the edges are folded back to show the quilted silk lining. It's very warm to wear during the winter.
